Hi there, welcome to the BLOG of my life as a Vagabiker. Beryl calls me a 'Free Spirit' my Grandpa a B.U.M. of no fixed address. Kelly says I'm 'off the wall'. I think that the Toad is closest saying I'm the Cat in the Hat it's fun to have fun—but you have to know how.

These are the stories of my unique, home-and-job-free Natness.

Naturally, quasi-legal events are fictional. Everything else is the unvarnished truth.

It was good hanging out with my mother, and she got to do stuff for me that I couldn’t do for myself. Things like changing my socks, washing my back, feet, & armpits (via damp sponge), put on deodorant, cut my hair. This is when a girlfriend would be really comforting. Thanks anyhow Mummy. Send me an e-mail some time… faatnaat at hotmail.com

FYI and Progress report.

As soon as you realize that your clavicle is broken get your arm in the ‘sling’ position. Use an inner tube or something to hold it there. The less you flap aboot, the more in-place your bones will remain.

Day one: 5h of much pain in the hospital waiting for x-ray’s. To hold back the vomiting, distract the pain, I though of pretty girls.
Day 2: Painful. As a passenger for the 5h drive I was trapped. Malcolm left the car door ajar and went for a sandwich. I was completely helpless, unable to adjust radio, turn the key’s, or even undo my seatbelt to release myself.
Day 3: The worst. Today I was really sore and stiff from the crash I wasn’t able to even walk at ‘grocery store speed’
Day 4: Much better
Day 5: Undid my own seatbelt
Day 6: Did up my own seat belt and attend a Feis (Irish Dance competition). Later drove myself to Kingston.
Day 7: After the Concert I fell off of a chair (random, nothing else) landing pretty heavily on my Left arm. Everything’s fine.
Day 9: I hurt a lot all day. Usually I wake myself up 2-3 times at night, dreaming, or rolling… wake up suddenly hurting. But today I ached all day.

It’s a humbling to be handicapped, and have to rely on others “Hewitt I want to have a shower can you help me…”. Today I thought I was ready to take off the brace… DM, and had to walk to the post office (1 km) before I found someone to strap me back together.

Summary of Extra Curricular events:

Feis (pronounced Fe-sh) regional competition for Irish Dancing. Since I’m not riding twice a day, eating 6x, and sleeping 2x, I’ve got some time to kill. So I went with Maggie Muffin to a Lord of the Dance competition. I defiantly felt a little Odd watching girls from 7 years old dancing around in Costumes, wigs, and Make-up. Maggie came through and won the Giant trophy, not that it’s all about winning.

Watched Team Canada Win the Semi Final Game in OT. Canada played better, but won by a much needed Golden Goal at the World Cup of Hockey in Toronto (Every Canadian already knows this, but Zero Americans do, FYI you lost 2-1 to Finland on Sat.). It’s amazing how single mindedly Canadians put Hockey above all else. Canada won the final a few days later, so the whole country’s Happy.

Mathew Good/ Tragically Hip concert, hosted by Dan Ackroid. Dan joined them on the Harmonica, and 12 000 people showed up for the Hip’s first hometown concert in 10 years. The Hip produce the good music which my generation grew up to. HOH was literally my wing man, protecting my port-side front the masses.
Pick up line of the Evening: Nice Sling Yeah there was some girl there with the same sling as me, Cool.

“You can’t get to Paradise if you don’t Pedal” -Chicken Run

8h of one armed car driving (guess what; I can roll my manual windows up and down with my foot!) and I’m back in Mass to find out that I now own more bikes/skis/ and crap than can fit in my car. Who you gonna Call? Bicyclefatso. Not only will this allow me to fit ‘my life’ into the Subie, but it will also help pay TUITION. Yeah that’s right I’m heading back to school. Focker Construction Co may be closer than you think!
