Hi there, welcome to the BLOG of my life as a Vagabiker. Beryl calls me a 'Free Spirit' my Grandpa a B.U.M. of no fixed address. Kelly says I'm 'off the wall'. I think that the Toad is closest saying I'm the Cat in the Hat it's fun to have fun—but you have to know how.

These are the stories of my unique, home-and-job-free Natness.

Naturally, quasi-legal events are fictional. Everything else is the unvarnished truth.

Itch Reief, & the Subie Rocks

Have you ever wished that you could just jump right out of your skin?

Day 1:
Dr #1 “Do you have any drug allergies?”
FN “Not that I know of”
Dr. #1 “Take these antibiotics for 10 days, and come back to me if the fever/ headache, and lump in your neck are gone”
FN “Roger, Roger”

If hives were worth 1/100th of a cent, I would be a rich, rich man.

Day 7 itchy feet, and flushed face
Day 8 VERY Itchy feet, and red dots on my torso, face, and feet
Dr #J “I think you have a virus”
Day 9 Very Itchy red dots most everywhere
Day 10 My face, neck and back look better, because there aren’t any more dots, they’ve joined together to make me one large puffy, itchy thing. I start wondering who I could have pissed off that knows/ learnt voodoo. Somewhere they’re sold out of pins.

FN “Let me take my shirt off”
Dr #2 “You can stop taking your shirt off. It’s obvious that you’ve had an allergic reaction to something. Take these pills to counteract your natural reaction to those pills. They will make you very drowsy, don’t drink any alcohol or operate motorized vehicles”
Day 11 I just slept 13.5 hours!

Brilliant money making idea # X+1: Sell books I’ve read to used bookstore
Money earned from plan X+1: $4 (Cdn)

A poem; to my true Love

Dear Subie,

Oh how I love thee…

Chances are if you’ve read an installment of my BLOG before you’d realize how much I prize my 1990 Subaru Loyale, no Turbo, front wheel drive steed. And if you were a ‘friend’ and ‘avid reader’ you would know not to call my beloved Subie unreliable and / or crappy. FOOL!

For the Record: THE SUBIE IS A CHAMP Don’t EVER Diss the Subie

Subie Update: The old girl has been giving me a little grief. But the last few weeks she was down right ornery and refused to start on a regular basis. Being stick I would just look for the steepest incline going to park on. However quite often I found myself running beside the door while pushing, and trying to steer around parked cars, before hopping in and hoping I had enough steam for clutch-popping-starting action. It’s harder than it seems, because jumping in the door of a moving car, isn’t that easy, and one slip, bobble, etc, and the Subie, was just going to be ghost-riding down the hill.

Last Weekend I put in a new battery and for 2 days it seemed that I’d fixed the problem. After breaking my record, and having to push start my car 4 times in one day, I know that the battery (and the alternator) aren’t the problem.

Continue bump starting for a month, and then ‘get around’ to cleaning the battery terminal connections
Problem solved. Really easily too.
