Stage 1: NAT-vigation Errors. Chehalis WA
The first 45min saw two wrong U-turns, and this was before we even got through Tacoma. Things didn’t improve when we were distracted by the smelliest truck in life (think rotting bodies that we could still smell a mile after it passed us), and managed to unknowingly get off our route. 3h or tempo riding later and we were 7 miles from were we’d just been. So after the first 4h12 min of riding we’d traveled a net of 33 miles. OUCH.
6h15 of riding on the day saw us only 53 miles closer to San Diego. We’d figured the trip would be around 12 days of riding 110 miles a day, and we added a few ‘buffer’ days in there for safety, but it’s a bummer to have burnt one riding in circles (literally).
(Random catch up tale)
When I was home for 12 days in September, (‘home’ in this case would be my parents place), my mother, dearest, convinced me to shave my armpits. Note to guys: Don’t shave your armpits. It’s pricklier, than $hi& and when you itch it. Damn. Really annoying, I don’t know now girls are tough enough to do this constantly. I had to wear tight undershirts, just too keep my self from irritating myself.
