Hi there, welcome to the BLOG of my life as a Vagabiker. Beryl calls me a 'Free Spirit' my Grandpa a B.U.M. of no fixed address. Kelly says I'm 'off the wall'. I think that the Toad is closest saying I'm the Cat in the Hat it's fun to have fun—but you have to know how.

These are the stories of my unique, home-and-job-free Natness.

Naturally, quasi-legal events are fictional. Everything else is the unvarnished truth.

Happy Birthday Toad

Hi there,

People keep squawking that I haven’t been posting anything up. So now you can shut-up! AH HA

12 days of travel and I caught up with the Subie (stories in it’s own right - I could write books about the things that happen between the diary entries). They might make a diary entry later this week, though I doubt it.

Family - well they’re going.

I just did a Kelly blue book search on my Subaru. If the Condition was ‘Fair’ which it isn’t… it would be worth $200. I couldn’t link the results, but I think you know what I’m talking about.

So my deal is… if the damn thing has no monetary value, but keeps driving (and even though the Toronto - Ottawa Slog took 6h and $45 because of road construction, it was vastly cheaper than plane or train, not to mention that I got to cart along buckets full of my Krap. So there you have it. I keep pushing, and she keeps on rolling.

Sure she was overheating in the cool night air when we got into a traffic jam, and after driving the old girls smells a little funky now. Of course she smelled funky before, but this is a new- burnt oil- type of funk added to the fray.

Besides if I were to buy a ‘new’ car it would just be another of these girls in better condition. Then I could save on junkyard fees when parts on it broke, because I could just cut them out of my Currant El Subaru.

Racing. Well I finished the last two races, though the results don’t show it, and Peter Morse ripped off a win last weekend. I am starting my much needed detox, and have started training for the first time in 2 months. Rain is forecast for this weekends race … so rock and roll.

Detox? Yes much needed…. NIN sang songs about this (take your pick). I am drinking Kyoto Mulch for breakfast, and eating Raw foods, with a little grilled Caribou thrown in for muscle repair.

I have lost 8 lbs in the past week from riding/ detox. Of course I still weigh an entire bicycle more than my ‘race weight’ from last year, and am up 30 lbs from my lowest weight during my bicycle Tour. 30 lbs? Nope not a typo. Most of it came on in 2 weeks. Yes I had weird chest pains, and yes I was scared. I can also bench more 16 oz’ers than anyone in spandex save Big Johnny.

OK now I need to box up some ripped jerseys etc. and head off to the post office.

If you know of a possible job which doesn’t involve working… faatnaat (at) hotmail.com
