Happy Canada Day
So I got up to Chelsea Quebec yesterday for the Tuesday of the long weekend. I love this area, quiet clean. And last August this is when I get into the swim of things again.
Most importantly my allergies are minimal up here. So I was pretty happy to be able to go out riding today, and then do a lap of the Park tempo (22km) and just feel good. In fact so good that I kept on going for a bit, just enjoying being able to breath deeply, and un-hindered.
Then I went out and did a tempo run - met some of the dogs that I will be walking next week.
Canada Party on the dock (burger, been salad & face painting). Went for a swim which was also solid. The last time I nailed back a good training day and felt decent like this was a month ago. Before that … whoo, it feels good though being able to push, go faster, push harder, and go faster again. I was really sick of that push and get smacked flat.
Otherwise I spent the weekend with my favorite niece Natalie Anne, and her parents. While I was there parents, grand parent, aunt, uncle and friends all showed up. So it was a good visit. Now that I will be escaping my allergy/ asthma miseries of southern Ontario until August, when they will hopefully will be gone, I’m looking forward to gradually increasing my training up.
I feel bad that I am not able to be around to help out my C3 team mates more, while they are gearing up for their summer racing season. But between that nasty grass down there, and my needing slower more consistent training, I just got my sniffy butt out of there.
I miss you guys already. See you soon.
PS it’s great to be in a country where this was the biggest news on June 30th - don’t cry over spilt honey
