Hi there, welcome to the BLOG of my life as a Vagabiker. Beryl calls me a 'Free Spirit' my Grandpa a B.U.M. of no fixed address. Kelly says I'm 'off the wall'. I think that the Toad is closest saying I'm the Cat in the Hat it's fun to have fun—but you have to know how.

These are the stories of my unique, home-and-job-free Natness.

Naturally, quasi-legal events are fictional. Everything else is the unvarnished truth.

Ace Rocks OutHey,

I realize that my last post said nothing, and I expect no better from this one. I’ve just been on the e-bizzl fritz some more. For those keeping track, I have already caught and ironed out my only shipping bug thus far.

One advantage E-Bay has over real-life-stores is that you don’t have to look at someone in the face and answer questions, like this one:

Q: just a precaution…but can i ask why your member location and item location dont match?….lots of scams floating around ebay, no disrespect or anything…thanks (more…)

atop wolverine overlooking anchorage and the alaska rangeAssault on Wolverine

woke-up, packed my gear, kitted-up in the Lifa, and then read, and cooked lunch. At lunch I was informed the hiking wolverine takes 3h in the summer, and will take me 5h today. So with 4h to hike, I was told to wait for tomorrow, so I left. But of course forgot ‘my’ trekking poles, since I didn’t put spikes in my shoes, I figured poles would be smart. (more…)

“The Last Frontier”

Is what you see on every car as soon as you step foot in Alaska. Essentially, it’s your waver, tread here at your own peril.

I think that I am getting a little soft in my older age, rife with accrued wisdom.

Aside from providing some ski paths, a little snow removal, and hosting a sled-dog race the local government, and area doesn’t provide much in the line of entertainment venues. Sure there are plenty of bars, but essentially for an Alaskan. Recreation is stomping off into the wilderness and more often than not, hurting yourself. (more…)

Before I start on the story, I want to underscore, that, as always, any illegal
content of this BLOG is purely fictional. Also that, though consider myself to be smart, I generally don’t plan ahead and think of possible consequences.
Just 2 minutes ago I made myself cry. (more…)

Bowling for Cars, with, well, other cars

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

By this time everything is going pretty well with my 4-legged friends. They are used to me, and I also know which ones I need to keep a closer eye on, which ones will try to fight who. etc etc. So things are getting pretty routine. You could even say that I’m in a rut.

In the evenings Kev and I are doing various home renovation projects, so I’m doing hardware store runs, drinking Corona, watching Holmes on homes fully domesticated, blah, blah, stick me in a wooden box.

Then a week ago today I had my first ever car-car accident. (more…)

Operation Panama City Complete

Hey,

So after a rather uneventful day of riding, just 64 km along a divided, busy 4 lane highway, ignore the people at the toll booths and keep on riding.

When we reached the bridge over the canal we were stopped by security. ‘For our own safety’ we had to wait for a little pick-up truck and jam our stuff into the back of it for a ride across the bridge. (more…)

Stage 5: ‘Hello Sunshine’ Bandon OR, 88 miles

Packing up at the hotel in the morning, we start chatting with the ‘young man’ who spent all of last night being yelled at by his mother. He’s newly divorced, and his wisdom lends us the quote of the day Don’t Never date a girl who doesn’t like Motorbikes … or bicycles, or whatever you’re into. (more…)

Bret and Kim, sitting in a tree, _____I-N-G

So I successfully survived the Williamson – Cheswick Wedding.

I was a little nervous for the whole event and have been training specifically for this the past month-ish. This is the first wedding I have been to of a peer. (more…)
