Hi there, welcome to the BLOG of my life as a Vagabiker. Beryl calls me a 'Free Spirit' my Grandpa a B.U.M. of no fixed address. Kelly says I'm 'off the wall'. I think that the Toad is closest saying I'm the Cat in the Hat it's fun to have fun—but you have to know how.

These are the stories of my unique, home-and-job-free Natness.

Naturally, quasi-legal events are fictional. Everything else is the unvarnished truth.

Training & Race Schedule

For 2009 my goal is simple: I want to be the worlds best amateur triathlete.

I haven’t really heard of anyone with this goal before, and I am somewhat in a unique position taking up triathlon so late in life (just before my 29th birthday in 2007).

My target races for 2009 will be IronMan Hawaii, and Xterra worlds. With twice the swim and run base, and having learned, a bit about what to expect over in Hawaii, I’m really excited to do this.

Last February when I showed up in Tucson, I was pretty green. Sean Bechtel walked me through the ropes of triathlon 101, as well as hard training in Arizona and Florida last year. For 2009 Sean and I are opening our training camps up to the public. If you are interested in joining us at any of these camps, or being coached by us check out Personalbest.ca and we are looking forward to helping you minimize your mistakes, and maximize your results and enjoyment for 2009 and beyond.

  1. Haven’t been on your site in ages… but after the laugh you gave me today I decided to procrastinate marking and check it out… and you tell me you aren’t organized look at this calender…. you are going to Europe next year, fun times? Maybe we should just add the list to the site and then you can check it out whenever you need a reminder.
